Renovations 2021 !!!

We started renovations on the Living Room, Dining Room and Kitchen (open floor plan space) November 18, 2020 with thoughts that surely the job would be done all but the last touches by Christmas! HA! That didn’t go quite as planned and we finally pronounced the room ‘finished’ February 15, 2021; 13 weeks in all. But I am so happy with the final result!

BEFORE:

  • “island” connected to nothing
  • …those pink walls though…
  • Storage box things in the Bay windows
  • Doesn’t everyone want a sink in the dining area?
  • The Wall. Solid concrete and stone. No known purpose whatsoever.
LivingRoom, Dining area and Kitchen before. Tile floors and that weird stone wall thing right in front of the door.

AFTER!!

  • Contact phone charger
  • Pop-up Phone charger and Electric outlets

So how did we get from there to here….

Tear out. Removing the cabinets, sheetrock and window boxes was the “easy” part….
  • THE DUST! yuck!
Getting rid of that weird stone and concrete wall in front of the door. I’m STILL cleaning up concrete dust!!!
  • Trench to put elec outlet in floor
  • moving the sink from the middle of the floor to the back wall
  • Cutting in a new Window in the back wall
  • Finally done removing the tile floor now for all that thin set!!
  • Ready for inspection…
  • Finally a clear floor
Removing the Tile floor – 4 solid days of jack-hammering and scraping! Cutting the new window and moving the plumbing in the kitchen.
  • Sheetrock and cieling texturing
Rebuilding the walls and floor and making the bay windows nice.
Cabinets Arrived! LOTS of cabinets!
Cabinets going in and Flooring is happening!

Now to work on the outside entry, pain the outside and put my back patio in order..
